The Sensational Serna Counseling Staff includes Sandy Crawford, full-time counselor, and Susan Blom,the part-time counselor. Mrs. Crawford will be working with PPCD, Pre-Kinder, First, Third, and Fifth grades. Mrs. Blom is affiliated with Kinder, Second, and Fourth grades.
The goal of the counselors is to address the social, emotional, and academic needs of the children in order for them to have a successful school experience. This is accomplished through the help of the parents, administrators, staff, and students.
Services include individual, group, and classroom guidance and counseling. In addition, we provide resources for parents to further their parenting skills and enhance the parent/child relationship. We strongly believe that it is a team effort to provide the best opportunities for each child to perform at their potential.
Students at Serna utilize the Boystown program of Social Skill Development. The counselors support this program, along with implementing the Second Step, a violence prevention program.
