North East maintains two unique enrichment programs:
The GT K-2 program is designed to provide Kindergarten, first, and second graders who exhibit a high potential of academic ability with a program that promotes greater reasoning skills, develops cognitive and creative thinking, and increases their problem solving ability. The GT K-2 program concludes at the end of the second grade.
The GT 3-5 program, for third, fourth, and fifth graders, is based on general intelligence and utilizes a broad umbrella theme to reach its objectives. It uses the core subject areas of language arts, science, social studies, and mathematics as a base for developing the scope and sequence used in the program. The GT 3-5 program concludes at the end of fifth grade.
TESTING SCHEDULE:
Students in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 are tested during the first three weeks of the new school year. Students in grade 1 are tested after the first six weeks of the new school year. Kindergarten students are tested at the beginning of second semester.
