 What is the role of a Title 1 Family Specialist? The primary purpose is to build communication with parents, staff and the community in order to assist students who are experiencing barriers to success and to build parent capacity to participate effectively in school activities. What services does the Family Specialist provide? -
Facilitate on-site parental involvement activities -
Facilitate parent education / training services -
Conduct home visits -
Coordinte with community agencies and organizations -
Work with families of at-risk students to provide necessary support structures to assit students overcome barriers to achievement and school attendance -
Consult with administrators, teachers, and other support staff regarding student social and family issues -
Provide information to parents and community through on campus resource center, monthly calendar of events, webiste, posters, flyers, etc.
