5th Grade After School Strings

• 2008-2009 Strings will begin on Wednesday, 17 Sept. and will continue until 13 May.
• Stahl students playing Violin or Viola will be bussed to Steubing Ranch Elementary every Monday and Wednesday.
  • Classes will be held from 3-3:45 pm. These students must have transportation home each Monday and Wednesday at 3:45 pm. in order to continue membership in the program.  (This may include a ride with an adult or walking home.
  • Strings children playing Violin and Viola may leave their instruments in Ms. Garcia's room during Strings class school days.  Stahl is not responsible for these instruments.
  • Students who forget their string instruments attend Strings class and follow along.
• Stahl students who play String Bass will take class at Harris on Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:30 - 5:15 pm.
  • Parents will be responsible for transportation to and from Harris on days of bass class.
• Patrols may be in Strings and will be able to hold the rank of Officer. They will not be able to hold the rank of Captain.
• Violin and Viola Schedule (Mondays and Wednesdays)
  • 2:20 pm - children are dismissed to collect their instruments.
  • 2:25 pm - Strings Bus departs Stahl (for Violin and Viola ONLY).
  • 2:35 pm - Strings Bus arrives at Steubing Ranch
• Special Strings dates
  • The last day to enter Strings: Friday, 12 Sept.  No forms or entries into the program will be accepted after the parent meeting. 
  • Wed., September 17^th : First day of strings
  • There will be no strings on Monday, December 1st.

    The photo make up date will be Tuesday, 9 December at 10:55 am.  Please bring your instrument for the photo.

  • Wed., December 10^th : Last day of strings class for Fall semester

  • Mon., December 16^{th, 6:30 pm} : Holiday Concert at Harris MS

  • Mon., January 12^th : First day of strings after holiday break

  • Wed., February 11^th : No strings due to orchestra conference

  • Mon., February 16^th : No strings due to student holiday

  • Mon., March 3^rd : No strings due to TAKS testing the following day

  • Wed., March 25^th : No strings due to Early Dismissal

  • Mon., April 6^th : No strings due to TAKS testing the following day

  • April 20^th – 22^nd : End of Year Concert (Evening with Strings @ BAC; exact day and time TBA)

  • Wed., April 29^th : No strings due to TAKS testing the following day

  • Wed., May 13^th : Last day of Strings

  • Last day of Strings: Wednesday, 13 May
