About Mrs. Shelton This is my 25th year as a teacher in N.E.I.S.D. I taught one year after graduating from Incarnate Word College. I then stayed home for 15 years raising our four children. When our youngest child started here at Coker, I came back to teaching. I began teaching in 5th grade, until TAKS Writing was transferred to fourth grade, at which time I was asked to move to fourth grade. I love teaching, but my most favorite subject is the teaching of Writing. It is extremely delightful to see a student progress from a sentence writer, to a paragraph writer, and then be amazed at the fact that they are capable to even write a story. It is one of the "Ah Ha's" of education I love the most. The Shelton family is a family of believers in Education. Husband, Dan, is a teacher at Churchill. My oldest daughter, Stephanie, teaches at Spech Elementary in Comal I.S.D. My youngest daughter, Allyson, taught at Stone Oak Elementary, but is now a stay-at-home mother to our sixth grandchild. My middle daughter, also a teacher, is now a stay-at-home mom. I'm proud!! Can you tell? Our son, John, chose not to be in Education, but that is O.K.! He's into computers and landscaping.
